Axel Herman Haig
Notable Swedish-born etcher, lithographer and watercolourist of architectural subjects. He worked in Britain, Spain, France, Sicily and Italy - mainly cathedrals and similar subjects. He etched more than 400 plates, and exhibited at all the major London galleries from 1869 onwards.
Charles Darwin's Study
Charles Darwin's Study at Down House, near Orpington, engraved shortly after his death by Axel Haig. Darwin's son commissioned Haig to create the etching. Darwin was studying the plant on the table just before he died.
