Jack Firth
Edinburgh-born artist and teacher. He painted mostly in a traditional style and is noted for paintings capturing the coastlines of Scotland and the countryside of France. His watercolours displayed great individuality, and were characterised by a distinctive vitality of colour. He was elected a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) in 1961 and twice served as its vice-president. He exhibited widely, including at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Society of Scottish Artists.
