John O'Connor
Studied at the Royal College of Art where his teachers included Eric Ravilious and John Nash. After WW2 he taught art, and was principal of Colchester School of Art from 1948-1964. Wrote and illustrated a number of books on subjects such as landscape painting, wood engraving, and relief printing. He exhibited widely including RA and RWS and had many solo exhibitions. The Arts Council, Tate Gallery, British Museum and many other public collections hold examples of his work.
