Stanley Orchart
1920 - 2005
Noted for his topographical watercolours and oils painted with a fine eye for architectural detail. Orchart painted in a free style using firm outlines and colour washes. Had many solo exhibitions and was in demand for commissions to paint house portraits. He spent most of his life in Bedfordshire painting subjects in that county and throughout East Anglia. His work was collected by H M Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and others.
