Vernon Ward
1905 - 1985
Vernon Ward (English, 1905 - 1985) was a well-known, versatile, talented and popular mid-20th Century artist, whose works were often published as prints. His father was an art dealer, which gave Ward the opportunity to copy all styles of paintings. He was accepted for the Slade School of Art at the age of 14, and exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Society of British Artists, and elsewhere.
Vernon Ward is best known for his landscapes and still life studies, as well as sporting, figure, historical, wildlife and portrait subjects. Today his flower paintings are considered the cream of his work.
