Frederick Donald Blake RI RSMA NEAC

Frederick Donald Blake was a painter in oil and watercolour, and a designer and etcher. He studied at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and at Goldsmiths' College London. He drew commercially for many years, and for the Ministry of Information duing WW2. He eventually gave up commercial work to paint full time.
Frederick Donald Blake was elected a member of the RI, RSMA, and NEAC, and was President of the Wapping Group, and also a member of the London Sketch Club and the Chelsea Arts Club. He was noted for his watercolours and the use of clay covered paper which allowed for novel techniques, especially in the portrayal of textures.
